Fics like Beyond Dark Horizons to Hallowed Light

At seventeen, Elena Gilbert died. Three days later, she woke with magic burning in her veins, and a bitterness in her heart when she wonders where it all went wrong. Instead of chasing Stefan she meets a witch who offers to teach her not only magic, but how to survive in the supernatural world when her destiny has already been fulfilled. or Elena finds a witch mentor who ropes her into undaggering Kol and Finn, and what starts as a band of misfits becomes a real family that none of them thought they would ever have. [Formerly "Of Curses, Destiny & Devotion" --cause I need to stop titling my works at 6am on no sleep] Warning: Canon is a suggestion on the horizon, minor character bashing, it might get weird before it makes sense
