When Robby returns to The Pitt from his sabbatical, the staff are buzzing. The heavy shadows that usually cling to him are gone, replaced by a surprising, uncharacteristic lightness. No one knows exactly what or who changed him, until the answer walks through the sliding doors of the ER in the form of Wrenley Hollis, the hospital's newest resident. Two months ago, a chance encounter in an off the beaten track dive bar turned into a lost weekend between two strangers bonding over their shared demons. That weekend bled into a month long affair of stolen moments and quiet escapes. They kept it simple: no last names, no strings, and absolutely no talking about their jobs. Now, Wrenley's fresh start has just become a professional minefield, and the man who was her secret escape for a month, is suddenly her strict, entirely off-limits attending. Keeping their hands off each other was hard enough when they were strangers; trying to do it while saving lives side byside might just be impossible.
