Fics like The Compass Still Points South

“A demon in a hostile environment” is a phrase Akaza is intimately familiar with. For over a century, survival meant keeping his fists raised and his guard higher. Humans hunted him. Demons challenged him. Even the sun itself wanted him dead. Peace was never an option—only the brief silence between battles. Death should have been the end. Instead, Akaza wakes up in the future. The Demon Slayers are gone. Demons are extinct. But the world hasn’t changed nearly as much as people claim. Heroes and villains have simply inherited the roles left behind. It’s still the same cycle: good versus evil, justice versus monstrosity. Expect now there is no longer any Demon King for the humans to blame for their sins. And despite the promise he made to Koyuki… Akaza finds himself slipping back into the only thing he has ever truly known. Violence.
