Fics like red string (you're the universe i'm helpless in)

Grace's favorite book is Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and he finds himself returning to a certain quote. “Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.” In context, it makes a lot more sense, but it boils down to this: the universe is so massive that the chance of even bumping into a piece of debris out there, let alone another spaceship, is almost entirely impossible. “So,” he thinks aloud, “how in the heck is there another craft out there?” aka Grace and Rocky pick up Simon on their way back from planet Adrian, and they try to live, because what else can they do? title is from venus by sleeping at last :)
