Fics like Muddy Waters

(Inspired from bucks dad saying could you imagine Buck covered in raw sewage) Six months after Captain Bobby Nash died saving the 118 from that biolab nightmare, Eddie Diaz is the steady one keeping the crew from falling apart while Chimney drowns in new-captain guilt. Buck Buckley is a total wreck newly granted full custody of his 7-year-old bio son Noah after the intended parents (a known-donor Philly couple Buck stayed friendly with) died in a car crash three months ago. They’d named Buck guardian in their wills; California Family Code let the court award him emergency then permanent custody after a best-interests hearing, DNA confirmation, and home study no other family stepped up. Buck’s apartment is now a war zone of spilled cereal, tantrums, and grief. The Abbott Elementary field trip from Philly (Noah’s old school) rolls into LA for a “Heroes of the City” tour right as Buck’s trying to figure out single-dad life. The mud-spa disaster call turns gross and chaotic, pulling everyone together. Athena steps in as surrogate grandma, Maddie leans on her for mom advice, and Noah becomes the glue between Buck, Eddie, and the Abbott crew. One stolen kiss between Buck and Eddie. Grief, mud, and messy family vibes only.
