Fics like always, forever, running back to you

"For a long time, Cheng Xiaoshi was convinced that Lu Guang was going to leave him. He didn't know when it'd happen, or why he'd do it, or if he'd disappear without a word like his parents did, but the feeling settled like a premonition, engraving itself into his bones the first time he looked into Lu Guang's eyes. It became an almost certainty to him when Lu Guang couldn't promise him forever. In the moment, Cheng Xiaoshi had told him that was enough for him and left it at that, but he never forgot. He remembered every time Lu Guang left to run errands, every time Qiao Ling scolded him for teasing Lu Guang too much, every time their eyes met. Always, the words ‘as long as I can’ echoed in the back of his mind." A shoebox is tucked away in the attic of Time Photo Studio, holding only a handful of memories within. The most important one is a polaroid photo that shouldn't exist. A photo that changes everything.
