Fics like Violent Womb

Josie was stuck. In her marriage. In life. Now, even at the end of the world. The plan was supposed to be simple. Get the RV. Leave without being seen. Get from Virginia to her sister's place in Louisiana and finally be free of the shit sucking urchin she regrets marrying. As a strange new disease ravages the human population, a newly single mother must do what she can to keep her son safe while stuck in Georgia. Everything anyone once knew of the civilized world they were used to is now gone, and all that remains is death, decay, and the indominable human spirit. Thrown into a group of people she knew nothing of, surrounded by strangers in a place she'd never been before, Josie must learn how trust people again. Learn how to defend herself against hoards of the undead, while teaching her son how to fight as well. And how to navigate feeling feelings for someone again...learn that romance doesn't always have to be a bad thing. Starts pre-season 1
