Fics like Does It Really Count As Dying If You Get Better?

Darcy Graves didn’t really expect to die. She expected to eventually of course, but she never really expected for it to happen directly after the ritual, and she never really expected that her mentor would be the one to kill her either. What she definitely never expected was the Drifter turning her. Thanks to some mix of pity, boredom, and a desire for amusement he saved her. If you counted being turned into a blood sucking undead as ‘saved’ anyway. Joining the ranks of those she was trying to honor wasn’t exactly ideal, but there were surely worse fates than being turned into an immortal undead, and it beat bleeding out in an alleyway. Infernus promised to inflict some of them on her if she ever scared her by showing up and bleeding on Jezebel’s floor again.
