When Michael leaves on his three month Sabbatical that may or may not be final, Dennis takes up the task of house-sitting his Attendings vacant apartment. What neither of them expect, is a (mostly) innocent string of texts turning into a habit of daily late-night calls. Calls which keep the loneliness at bay but make the mutual unspoken yearning so much worse. Somewhere between “Everything okay over there?” and “Tell me about your day.” Dennis becomes the only thing that makes Michael want to come back home. Dennis, meanwhile, has been secretly in love with his much older Attending from the start. Tiptoeing the thinning line between what's appropriate and what isn't, should have been an easy task with so many miles between them. At least right up until one panicked confession and a phone call from home threatens to shatter everything.
