Fics like Heart of the Hive

“He took a cautious step forward and that’s when it happened. It changed. The beast twisted, screeching in frustration, its voice a mixture of growl and anguish. Bones cracked and skin tore, muscles contracting unnaturally. Mike’s breath caught in his throat as he watched. The thrashing slowed and it finally collapsed, revealing something else in its place.” Or Will was never found. Years spent in the upside down, running from constant torment erased Will’s innocence, memories and his voice. He was no longer the boy who went missing in 1983. Tethered to every shadow of the upside down, he began to learn its ways. When the hive responds to him, Vecna does too. Now bound to the hive with his newfound power he must find himself as his old friends try to pull him out of the weight of Vecna’s control. Mike is the only constant, grounding Will in ways he can’t yet understand.
