It just made sense to pull Roxie out of her shitty hole in a wall apartment into Velma’s own so they could split the bill, just for a little while. Roxie could pack all of her convent-girl dresses into a single suitcase, because apparently she never bothered to play nice with that John of hers for long enough to go home and get her stuff. Velma finds that to be a waste of resources. “There’s only one bed in here,” Roxie complains in that sweet apple farmgirl voice that she has. Velma can kind of see why the jury bought it. … Roxie never really *liked* men, did she?
