Fics like What Remains of Michael Shelley

“Hey, Michael!” Emma greeted them warmly. “Ready for your trip? I hope you packed your jumpers!” “Just a little nervous,” they fibbed. Truthfully, they were terrified. They weren’t sure that the supernatural was even real, but this trip to Sannikov Land would be the furthest they had ever gone from home. However, the Archivist needed them. She even had admitted to Michael that she was afraid, that she needed their help. The Archivist had always been so stoic and strong—for her to finally let down her guard around them was no small thing. Unexpectedly, she took their hand and squeezed it. “You’ll be back before you know it.” Though words seemed comforting, her voice made it sound like a command. When she let go of their hand, something was wrapped around their finger. AU where Michael becomes the Distortion, but still returns to the Archives
