Fics like Small Discoveries

Daniel Jackson accidentally activates an Ancient device that turns him into a five‑year‑old — while leaving his thirty‑eight‑year‑old mind, his three dozen degrees, and his entire argument history with Jack intact, all trapped in someone who can barely reach the door handle. While Sam and Janet search for a way to “un‑shorten” him, Jack ends up as his very over‑his‑head legal guardian and discovers the quiet, humiliating moments when Daniel’s stubborn “I’m fine” finally breaks into “I need help.” The whole team holds the line together as Daniel learns to rely on them in ways he never has before.
