Fics like one day you’ll find me asleep above the stars

Danny is no stranger to sorrow. He’s suffered plenty over the years since he’d first half-died in the portal accident. He’d figured he was well acquainted with the concept of death and loss and having to let things go. But then Manny dies. And Danny doesn’t even find out until the day after the funeral. Heartbroken and mourning, Danny sinks deeper and deeper into depression, shutting everyone out and locking himself away to wallow in his grief. He can’t seem to find the will to keep going in a world without his lover’s warm smile. Thankfully, he’s not alone. Manny may be gone, but Danny still has friends and family who love him and care about him, and they will not allow his pain to swallow him whole. Though his soul may never fully heal, with the help of his loved ones, Danny may yet let hope back into his heart.
