Ethan Barnes is homeless and at the end of his rope when he finds the coin laying on the ground. When a mysterious, beautiful woman comes looking for what he found, she offers to find him a place to stay in exchange for what he discovered. Then she asks him where he wants to go. Faced with such an open-ended question Ethan starts listing what anyone would want in a place to stay. However, annoyed by the stranger's attitude and condescending demeanor he keeps going, listing off ridiculous, impossible requests: He wants roommates that have "more sex appeal than the absolute hottest girls I see on tv, or movies, or porn." Further, he tells her that he would appreciate a cure for both cancer and dental cavities lying around the place. Oddly enough, the strange woman doesn't laugh in his face. She only asks if he's sure. Of course, none of what Ethan wanted is possible in the reality he has been living in for the first nineteen years of his life. Now, he finds himself somewhere else. While there are many superficial similarities between his old and new worlds, he quickly realizes that this place has fundamentally different social and gender norms. Everything has been flipped around and turned on its head.
