Fics like Last Root Of Ngnun

Zhaleh, a fierce birdkin and the second greatest disciple from the sect of Ngnun, endures a morning of slaughter. The Blood-Drinkers, masked terrors of the Mgan Plains, emerged to settle an ancient grudge against the sect of Ngnun. In the chaotic battle Zhaleh loses an arm, her home, and everyone she considered family. Broken in body and wavering in spirit, she flees into the grasslands with a bloody trail. Masked monsters follow with a fresh thirst for revenge. At the same time Emrys, an enigmatic caravan master and a human unlike any the Plains have seen, notices the smoke rising from the lonely mountain. Taking his sorcerer bodyguards along, the giant of a man sets out to investigate. A high fantasy tale of martial might, plentiful magic, and no easy means to mend that which has broken. Brutal action and a harsh, original world await in this character driven story. --- This takes place in the same world as, but far from the events of, Wedding The Dragon. There will be frequent updates until Arc 1 is fully posted.
