Fics like Once Upon a Floating Light

John has spent his entire life locked away in a tower, hidden deep within Sherwood Forest. Every year on his birthday, thousands of lanterns rise into the night sky, and he feels an unexplainable pull toward them. When a thief stumbles into his life, John takes a chance on freedom and leaves the tower behind. Their journey brings them closer than either expects, leading them through danger and to the truth about what the lanterns really mean to John. OR: A retelling of Tangled (2010) with the characters of Robin Hood: Mischief in Sherwood
