After the events in the void, Lace has lost much of her memory, forgetting her later battles, Phantom’s death, and much of her bond with Hornet. Hornet quietly bears the weight of those lost memories, sewing a quilt of their shared past while answering Lace’s painful questions about her sibling and mother. As whispers of destiny pressure her toward sacrifice and rulership, Hornet rejects that path and chooses instead to protect Lace above all else.
