Fics like "So You've Made Several Decisions You'll Definitely Regret Later," by Greed the Avaricious

Ling probably shouldn't feel so safe with the thing that took over his body, given how it keeps calling him its possession, talks about things it shouldn't know, and, oh, told everyone that he was dead while he was unconscious. He just... feels like he should, for some reason. If the two of them actually talked about it, maybe he'd be able to figure it out. Greed would have preferred it if his third(?) chance at life had just picked up where his second left off, but this works, too. Sort of. He might be making things a lot worse for himself, actually, but let's not think about that. Lan Fan's prince has been taken from her, swallowed up by one of the monsters they were trying to capture. Accompanied by a woman who claims to have lost her own friend to the monster, she swears revenge. It would be a nice sentiment if anyone actually needed to be avenged, but as it is, it's just causing more problems.
