Having an entire room to himself, even if it's not in use, makes him feel guilty. The idea of a private room, a space entirely for him, is an incredibly foreign concept to him. Living on a farm, being the youngest of four, and a copious amount of nieces and nephews always romping around the place during family gatherings did not allow for a semblance of privacy. Dennis is used to sharing rooms, bathrooms, and even beds when space was tight. A farmhouse did not correlate with personal space. During his undergrad, he even shared a room with other students. He has no idea what he’s supposed to do with space beyond a bed. In the abandoned wing, he didn’t get much time to dwell on having his own space, because it wasn’t really his in the first place. Always on the lookout, over his shoulder, switching rooms to avoid guards and being caught. But now Dr. Robby is offering an entire room. And rent free at that. And maybe that is where the guilt stifles him a bit. __ Or, Whitaker finally makes it back to Robby's place, and gets to have a real shower.
