Fics like Into the Spin

In the end, she takes refuge in a soldier's blunt language, just as she has always done. "I'm dying," she says to Odo. He doesn't look surprised. He nods. "I've got Grev-Lal's Syndrome," she continues. "It's a neurodegenerative disease, with no known cure. Over the next one to three years, my mind will deteriorate until I don't know who I am anymore. Until I cannot move, or speak. Eventually, even the automatic functions will shut down." Odo's only response is to wrap himself around her even tighter. She thinks whimsically that he must feel stretched-out, like a spring. That maybe this feels even stranger to him than it does to her. "Odo," she says, and pulls back so that she can look him in the eyes. "I'm here to ask if you will help me die."
