After nine happy months on Cardassia Prime, an unfortunate incident breaks the spell and starts to affect everything in Julian Bashir’s life- from his work, to his relationship, to his plans for the future. He decides to finally take a long-overdue vacation on Earth. (A post-canon story about enduring friendships, healing, growth, commitment, and finding where you belong.) CW: This story delves into Cardassia’s legacy of colonialism and violence, and the plot is kicked off by an incident involving xenophobia and sexual assault. It doesn’t happen during the fic, and is only described non-explicitly- but do mind the tag, because it’s referenced often. Chapter-specific warnings are also included.
