The sun was Hans' first lover, before any girl and long before Henry. Henry doesn't mind being second to that, because the sun left its kisses behind, in the freckles that dot Hans all over his back, clustered on the tops of his shoulders and arms, whispers of faded sunburns and brief boyhood escapes. Henry can't know every story, but he wants to ask, to try and hold all of them; he can't kiss every freckle, but he can try that, too. - Hans has a bad morning and Henry does his best to cheer him up, and drowns in his lover's body in the process.
