Fics like “We’re Still in the Same Place… Aren’t We?”

Three years have passed since the golden days of childhood, when the MC, Qiu, and Tamarack spent every afternoon exploring Golden Grove without a care in the world. But as they enter their early teens, the warmth of those memories begins to fade. Tamarack grows busy with new responsibilities and a fuller life outside the trio. Qiu, meanwhile, starts withdrawing—pulling inward as he wrestles with confusing questions about himself, hiding behind oversized sweaters and quiet smiles that no longer feel like him. The MC, still holding onto the closeness they once shared, tries desperately to bridge the growing distance. But every attempt leaves them reaching for someone who’s slipping farther away. Or. A quiet, bittersweet story about the moment childhood fades and the first real heartbreak begins.
