It takes a moment for Harua’s eyes to adjust, but when they do it becomes clear why Maki was so worried. He thinks they must be fake at first. They sell those kinds of things in certain shops and maybe this is just some elaborate prank Maki is pulling on them. There’s no way it could be anything else. Or: Seemingly overnight, Harua's best friend Maki has grown two puppy ears and a fluffy tail.
