Fics like coax you out of that unholy place (learning how to rest)

GoodTimesWithScar. We have watched your progress these many years and have come to a decision. They–whoever they were–had been watching him? Now it is your turn to make a decision. We believe you have the qualities we desire in a Watcher. Should you choose to join us, you would leave your world behind and dedicate yourself to the study of players, watching from afar. What is your decision? “Yes.” Scar stammered, almost before they had finished. “Please, please, I need to leave here, I don't want to be here anymore.” He couldn't do this. He couldn't stay in his devoid and empty world any longer, not when he was sure he would die. He didn't want to suffer the pain and fear and loneliness anymore. He was so tired, so scared. He didn't know what the Watchers meant in their offer, but he didn't care. Anything would be better than where he came from. “Don't put me back, please.” He whispered, voice breaking. “I can't stay there anymore.” Very well. Welcome, GoodTimesWithScar, to the Watchers. - or, what if the Watchers chose Scar instead of Grian? or or, i put scar through the watcher horrors
