Fics like Lazarus Syndrome

“Then don’t you dare ask me to be your companion.” It meets your glare with its hooded eyes, dark and enigmatic beneath the bone of its brow. “I do not ask.” A numbing sensation settles upon your shoulders as the meaning of its words sink in. Something changes in the air between you, that primal urge to flee that had gone dormant during your conversation spiking up again as your pulse unintentionally quickens. “You cannot keep me here,” you say slowly, forcing your voice to remain calm as your leg twinges with pain, reminding you of your crippling weakness. “I can,” it states simply, and it's the casual confidence in that statement that unnerves you more than anything else yet. “And I will. Until you heal and understand.” “Understand what?!” Your voice rings with incredulity as its gaze softens slightly. Haven’t you already talked about this? What else is there for you to possibly understand? “That your hatred is the first real thing that has ever been truly mine.” - Or, you are part of the blind man's family of hunters and happen upon the last moments The Creature spends with said blind man. You can probably imagine how well that goes.
