Bucky does not act on ruining that 84-year streak right then and there because Sam’s eyes are enormous, practically sparkling with unhinged curiosity that he looks scary similar to the kid whenever something flags down his hyperactive brain. “Yup,” he says, totally level-headed. The most level-headed he’s ever been. “Think you’re outta practice?” “Nope.” Bucky’s a natural at this. Level-headed is his middle name. "It's just like riding a bike, Sammy. Once you remember, it's pretty hard to forget." Then suddenly it's, “Do you want to?” and Bucky feels like all his level-headedness was grabbed by the balls and ripped right out of him. Or: Bucky wants and craves and loves Sam so much that it makes him a little dumb. And a whole lot more eager to kiss him.
