Fics like poison in my mind

At first, Jeno thought it might have been a stray cat or dog, but as he steps into the alleyway it quickly becomes apparent that the thing in the alley way is not a dog or a cat, but rather a swirling, shifting mass that writhed, pulsating as if it had life of its own. He’s never seen anything like it before. A rational person when confronted with some other worldly being would probably turn tail and run, but Jeno does neither of those things. Instead, he speaks in a hush tone, “Hey there, little buddy.” [or: Jeno encounters an eldritch horror living in the alley behind his favorite coffee shop and is suprisingly chill about the whole thing.]
