Fics like Versterving

‘“It’ll be easier, if you stop,” Ragatha admits from her spot beside her on the sofa. They’re all present around where she’s curled up, a small indent against the cushions, watching each ragged breath tear through the round curves of her shoulder puffs. Her eyes are glazed over, dry without reprieve; she fights the urge to close them, because she’s almost certain that if she does she won’t ever wake up again. She’s pretty sure she’s dying.’ The human body can only survive up to three days without water. As Pomni is forced to acclimate to her new life in the circus, she can feel the tether connecting her to her real body dwindle with every passing day. Lying undiscovered in the remnants of a long abandoned building, her true body withering away to the elements, her consciousness is accompanied by various other trapped souls in Caine’s twisted wonderland. They’ve all been through the same brutal hazing; now they have to be there to sit through Pomni’s.
