Fics like You Should See Him Laughing, Fit to Die (With a Cinder in his Eye)

“Not very serious,” he repeats, fuming, incredulous. “Oh, bullshit! What the hell, Torse?” He levels an accusatory finger, silently thankful that no tremor betrays him. “What’s with all of this, then?” “Nothing is with all of anything.” Torse keeps his hands hovering close to him. Silently trying to weigh if the reward of properly pushing him back into resting is worth the risk of potentially injuring him further, if Maxwell had to guess. “These are… what I understand you would call ‘flesh wounds’.” Maxwell’s pretty sure his idea of a flesh wound may not be the best basis to start from. Not that he can, or will, ever admit as much to Torse. “Your ribs are bent back!” “And yours are bruised.” ---- The crew ends up in a particularly rough fight. Maxwell meets his match in avoiding recovery.
