Fics like Chariot and Wolf

Poseidon’s judgement soon fell. “Choose, Odysseus of Ithaca.” “Choose…?” Odysseus said, baiting. His grip on Penelope's hand tightened. ”Before you lay two roads. Choose to come with me, and I will take you to Olympus. Or you can choose to throw all that away and enjoy mediocrity. Before you, I will sink this island and all that inhabit it. Then you will be the king of nothing.” ༄﹏𓊝﹏༄ How difficult is it to defy the fate that’d been woven for you, when you already know what’s to come? AKA Odysseus is only an infant when the God-King Zeus prophesies the future humiliation Odysseus will inflict on Poseidon years after the mortal prince ascends the throne. However, the King of Ithaca will play a crucial role in the Trojan War. Zeus’ hands are tied as he is the one who prohibited the gods from interfering in the war. So the thunder bringer devises a trial. There are many ways of persuasion. Wherein somethings remain inevitable, but a tiny ripple can become a tidal wave. Poseidon rasped, “Zeus has his demigod sons, Heracles and Perseus. Athena has the warrior Achilles. But you, Odysseus of Ithaca, belong to me.”
