Buck's always easy for Eddie. Which, again, is the reason why they're in this predicament. Eddie holds up his glass for Buck to clink his against. "Congratulations, Buck. You're going to be a father." Eddie's expecting a lot of possible emotions. He's not expecting sheer horror. Buck manages to choke out, "You're dying?” Buck's into the bargaining stage, saying that they'll talk to doctors and do everything they can for him before Eddie's brain comes back online and he interrupts Buck. "I'm pregnant." Buck's eyes widen. That's a lot more like the reaction Eddie planned for. Hoped for, even. “Ed–Eddie.” Eddie, for the first time all day, lets his hands settle over his stomach. Right now, there’s a baby in there. His and Buck’s. Buck knocks Eddie up. This isn't the first time Eddie's faced an unplanned pregnancy with a best friend. He's determined not to repeat his mistakes, but that's easier said than done.
