Fics like Evolution

"Howdy, guys" he said with a terrifying fangy smile. His eyes dropped to Ryan, who had, so quickly, put himself in front of Luna, but made to get behind her by the woman herself "Hey, buddy. I've been so worried about you this last fourteen days" "Dad...let them go and I'll go back with you. I promise" Hearing a thirteen year old boy saying that. Offering himself as a sacrifice... It made her wince. "Stay back" Luna warned. It felt stupid now, to even try to warn Homelander, as if that monster couldn't kill her with a look. "Oh, you got spunk" he seemed so pleased about that. Marie could swear she had heard everyone say that Homelander hated when people weren't afraid of him "I won't hurt anyone" he showed her gloves palms "Nor send anyone back to Elmira. Creepy place, right?" none of them said a word "Alright, then. I just want to talk to you two. The rest can go" Marie saw Ryan grip Luna's hand. "Why would you want to talk to me?" Homelander just smiled. Fangy, terrifying and oddly genuine. {Hiraeth; noun; a deep longing for a person or thing which is absent or lost; yearning; nostalgia; spec. homesickness.}
