Fics like Surface Tension

"They stared at each other a moment, water moving around them like a quiet promise. Then Steve glanced away, smiling a little to himself. “You’re kind of a sap, you know that?” Bucky laughed, a short, surprised sound. “Shut up. You started it.” Steve ducked under the water again to hide his grin, then surfaced with a mock-serious face. “You telling me I can’t have a vulnerable moment?” “I’m telling you I’m gonna dunk you if you keep calling me a sap.” Steve grinned. “I’d like to see you try.”' — Steve Rogers leads the swim team with determination and quiet intensity. Bucky Barnes just wants a fresh start, and maybe a place where he belongs. When their worlds collide between laps and late-night study sessions, something unexpected surfaces — a connection that challenges everything they thought they knew about friendship, loyalty, and love. Navigating college life, competitive swimming, and tangled feelings isn’t easy. But sometimes, the hardest races are the ones fought within. (Complete! 💦)
