Fics like Meet Your Heroes

Phoenix has been active across southern Maywater for a little over a year, and all things considered it was going okay. Some nights he still couldn’t believe it. For as long as he could remember he’d adored the superheroes of the city. Of course, plenty of little kids wanted to be a hero when they grew up, but for him it had been his life’s goal. The one thing he wanted more than anything. The fact that he got to go out most nights and help fight crime across the city was a dream. It would have been perfect, except for one teeny, tiny little thing. Phoenix wasn’t technically a superhero. Sure, he was going out and doing what he could to make people’s lives better, but he didn’t have any superpowers. He didn’t even have any special training aside from years of archery. He was a local vigilante at best, and a nuisance at worst. - As a young vigilante in a city full of superheroes, it's difficult to prove you belong. However, when a job goes sideways he's saved by one of his biggest heroes who might be able to give him a leg up in the game.
