For those growing up in Halcyon City adolescence isn’t easy. Made complicated by heroes, villains, and the disasters they bring with them, those teens that develop powers of their own find themselves trying to navigate two worlds, that of heroes and that of family, friends, and school. Clay Trevino's ability to manipulate dark energy is now sapping them of life. They're in a race against time to find their Uncle Gideon and reverse the experiments performed on them before their own energy consumes them. Katey Walker finds her relationships threatened when she develops the ability to teleport. Her mother Grace, an advocate for superhuman registration turns cold and controlling. Her best friend Ruth drifts away as her jealous over Katey's powers divides them. Viv's manifestation transformed him into a living skeleton. His new appearance left him homeless. Viv is caught between trying to find a place for himself in the surface world or the prospect of descending into the Lands Below, the home of all skeletonfolk that none seem to return from. When chance throws these three together they find that insurmountable odds might not be so impossible with friends by their side.
