Fics like A Touch So Dreaded And Desired

I missed my friend the Fool. He was not as distant as he had been when we still fought, but neither did he feel quite within my reach, either. And so often we were surrounded by others, and I could do or say nothing about it, so I suffered the tiny gulch between us in silence, always a step removed from where I actually wanted to be. But we were all alone now, and I was sick and frightened, and the only thing I wanted, in all the world, was for somebody to hold me and comfort me. "Please," I begged him, recalling despairingly how little my pleading had mattered when his face was painted and his name had been Amber. "Please lie beside me for a while. I just- I need- I cannot-" In which Fitz convalesces and is comforted, in a myriad of unexpected ways.
