Fics like Extra Baggage

Long before Neil Josten arrived in the nowhere town of Millport, Arizona he was an exy prodigy with great potential and a girl. Now, he’s neither. Neil Josten knows how to survive. What tree years on the road didn’t teach him, his mother showed him. After leaving her dead body on a beach on the West Coast, Neil has been on his own, protecting his three-year-old sister and himself from those that hunt them and struggling to make ends meet as a homeless teen. When Coach Wymack shows up looking for a second striker sub for his exy team, the Palmetto Foxes, Neil is faced with a choice: keep on the path his mother trained him for or trust that exy can save him. But signing for the Foxes proves messier than promised. Or: A story where Neil is trans masc and a teen parent (not that he'll be very forthcoming about either of these things, this is Neil). Spoilers in the Tags!! If you want to experience this through Neil's usual shady POV skip the tags. Content warnings the same as the books.
