Fics like Ghosts of The Court

Most people run to survive. Nathaniel Wesninski was trained to make everyone else run from him. In this world, Nathaniel isn’t just the Butcher’s son; he is his masterpiece. Raised under the cold edge of a blade in Baltimore, Nathaniel possesses the lethal skills to inherit an empire of blood. But when his mother, Mary, drags him into a desperate flight across the country, Nathaniel discovers there is something more terrifying than his father: the hollow void of being no one. In a rain-slicked alley in California, his path crosses with Andrew Minyard’s. Still walking the razor’s edge of a suspended sentence for Tilda’s 'accident', Andrew is a silent shadow under constant police watch. When Nathaniel saves his cousin’s life, Andrew doesn’t see a savior; he sees a monster recognizing his own kind. There, amidst the scent of blood and shared secrets, a promise is forged. Years later, on the Exy court of Palmetto State University, a runaway named Neil Josten tries to bury his past. But the goalkeeper waiting for him has a memory like steel and a debt he hasn’t yet collected. The Moriyamas want Nathaniel dead. Exy wants Neil alive. In a world with monsters and kings, where does the ghost fit?
