It was easy to look at Mark. Easy in the sense that he liked to look at him, at his hair, golden even under fluorescent lights, at the way he raised his eyebrows when he was happy. But also easy because Mark never made Lucas feel weird for looking. While he was doing nothing except looking at him, Mark kissed him. He froze, except he couldn’t freeze, couldn’t fuck this up. Surprised because he never would have done it himself, surprised at how buoyant he felt now that Mark had finally done it.
