Fics like What You Risk, What You Keep

After the chaos of Rex Manning Day and the near-loss of Empire Records, Joe finally sits Lucas down for the conversation they’ve both been circling. What starts as a reprimand turns into something neither of them quite expected: the truth about why Lucas risked everything, and what Joe really means to him. ----- A post-movie scene about chosen family, second chances, and the messy tenderness between a kid who never thought he deserved a home and the man who gave him one.
