Fics like My My Those Eyes Like Fire

Rumi laid awake in her bed, rethinking the events of the day. She had almost died, which was pretty normal at this point. Usually Rumi was able to take care of it herself, without anyone’s help. But today, it was different. She had hurt her leg while she was out, tripped over a rogue tire. She was unlucky enough to attract a zombie with the noise, sending it running right towards her. She had tried to fight, but her leg hurt too much to move. She had thought she was dead, but at the last second Mira and Zoey came to her rescue. It had happened before. When Rumi was in a tight spot, Mira or Zoey would step in to help her out, and Rumi did the same for them. But for some reason, the way they grabbed onto the monster in front of her, the determined look on their faces, the power in their eyes... Rumi’s heart sped up just thinking about it. Something warm started to grow in her chest, making her breathing uneven. Whatever, she would just sleep it off. She would wake up in the morning and everything would be back to normal. Oh how wrong she was.
