Fics like With Great Fire

Evan Buckley didn’t break bones the way other kids did. He learned that in eighth grade, when he fell off the roof of the gym during a dumb dare. Landed on the concrete. Hard. Everyone thought he’d shattered something. He got up. Winded. Bruised. No break. Not even a sprain. The nurse said he was lucky. Buck knew better. He didn’t feel lucky. He felt wrong. Like there was a blueprint for how a person was supposed to work, and he’d been printed just slightly off-axis. Because it wasn’t the first time. OR An AU where Buck is the Spider-Man of this universe. Getting his powers as his parents were desperate to heal Daniel, they sought help beyond conventional medicine. An experimental treatment that might jumpstart Daniel’s immune system through enhanced gene therapy using a matched donor’s stem cells. Create a sibling. A perfect donor child, whose DNA could be pre-modified to produce regenerative stem cells and enhanced immunity. Buck was this perfect donor child. Buck learns how to juggle being Spider-Man and a firefighter. He also faces the looming threat of Connors, who is relentlessly pursuing him. Meanwhile, the rest of the 118 are beginning to piece together the mystery of his secret identity.
