Fics like Even Flame Rests in Light

“Honestly, he and Kim Seungmin are, like, the smartest guys in school, but they’re so different.” “Like the flame and the light kind of way. Same but different.” “Oh my god, literally! Minho sunbae is like… sunshine and leadership and academic excellence.” “Seungmin’s like…” one of them hesitated, clearly trying not to be rude. “I mean… he’s smart, yeah, but also…” “Scary?” someone suggested. “Hot in a do-not-approach kind of way?” “Like if ‘leave me alone’ was a person.” Seungmin rolled his eyes, The flame and the light. He hated how often they got lumped together, “the smart ones.” As if being good at academics put them in the same category. As if Seungmin’s barely-there effort and Minho’s perfect punctuality were the same thing. Minho was everyone’s favorite. He smiled like a public service. He was calm, collected, admirable. Every inch the kind of guy people wanted to be or be with. Seungmin? He didn’t smile unless it was a smirk. He corrected professors without blinking. He never raised his hand. Just spoke when he felt like it. They were two sides of a coin. One wrapped in gold. The other sharp enough to cut.
