Fics like The Scarlet Light of Oz

“…And what do I call you?!” Damn. Was she that desperate? Was she that starved for attention, for affection, that she yearned after a girl she didn't know a singular thing about except that she hadn't flinched at Elphaba's verdigris and had dubbed her the oddly perky and, dare she say, cute “Elphie”? How pathetic. No one ever entertained the strange green girl, the vegetable freak, socially. Certainly not mysterious, beautiful blondes adoring on baby Animals. Yet, miraculously, the girl stopped, tilting her head so that those blonde curls spilled over her shoulder in a wave of spun gold. She tapped her chin with a carefully manicured finger and winked, a wicked (breath-catching, mesmerizing, alluring) smile pulling on her lips. “You can call me…" She tossed her hair. An overly-dramatified movement that Elphaba shamelessly stared upon as if her entire world had shifted. “...Glinda." Or- A forewarned Galinda ditches Shiz to be the Witch of the South and lay the groundwork to better the Land of Oz. All in Elphaba's memory, of course. Their paths cross. Elphaba is clueless. And, as always, everything is wrong with Glinda.
