Fics like ouroboros

Moiraine had always seen the Great Serpent mark between her breasts as a curse – a symbol of inevitability chaining her to a soulmate she never asked for. It tore her from Siuan, the only woman she’d truly loved, binding her to a fate spun by the Wheel, not by choice. Seeking escape, she devoted herself to the Dragon Reborn – a mission she had chosen – convincing herself her soulmate was either dead or would never appear. She was wrong. Her soulmate wasn’t dead. She was Lanfear, Daughter of the Night. The mark Moiraine hated hadn’t just cursed her – it had led her straight to her nemesis. Meanwhile, Lanfear, fixated on the resemblance between her own mark and the Dragon’s, convinced herself she was destined to be with him – pursuing a connection that was ultimately empty. What she never foresaw was that the unmistakable spark of a true soulmate bond wouldn’t come from the Dragon at all, but in the moment she was nearly decapitated by Moiraine Damodred, one of his advisors… And her actual soulmate.
