Fics like What about Maverick?

“You promised me, remember?” Goose said, voice trembling as he wiped seafoam from Pete’s forehead. “You said we’d always come back together. That’s what you told Carole. That’s what you told me.” The wind gusted again, shaking the little raft. “Come on, you can’t do this to baby Brads… he’s just a kid. He worships you,” Goose’s voice broke. He pressed a gloved hand to his face, trying to breathe through the pain in his chest. “He can’t loose his uncle like that, please Pete, honey,” his voice cracked into a hoarse cry. The raft rocked violently as another wave passed beneath them. Goose held on to Maverick with everything he had.
