Fics like Steel and Taffeta

War has caused many burdens on the American people, but little have compared to anguish of lovers in the bonds of battle. You find yourself trusted into a position you had never truly asked for but is nonetheless your duty to fulfill. As well as balancing expectations of you, you struggle to find balance between your two closest of relations, childhood best friend, Major Cabot Forbes and his brooding and quiet Colonel, Robert Shaw. You cant help but feel you're falling too fast, yet standing slow.
