Fics like Survivors

Year: 1490s, Eastern Europe. Katarina Petrova has just given birth in shame, exile, and heartbreak. Her newborn daughter is ripped from her arms—until she escapes. With Rose’s reluctant help, Katarina vanishes into the wild. But instead of becoming a vampire to save herself, Katarina chooses a different fate. Desperate not just to live, but to raise her child free of Mikaelson wrath, she begs an old Carpathian witch. The witch offers an impossible trade: abandon your world, your history, your name—and you and the child will vanish where no vampire, no compulsion, no curse can follow. A powerful ritual rooted in bloodline and loss—spurred by a mother’s grief. As the Originals close in, Katarina and her baby vanish in fire and snow… …and wake in a refugee camp outside New York, 2023.
